The U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is a foreign assistance agency pursuant to section 661 of the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended (22 USC 2421).  The hallmark of the agency has always involved building partnerships between U.S. companies and overseas project sponsors to bring proven private sector solutions to developmental challenges.  The agency delivers its program commitments through overseas grants, contracts with U.S. firms, and the use of trust funds at several multilateral development bank groups.

As a foreign assistance agency, USTDA interacts directly with developing and middle-income country project sponsors and delivers targeted activities that increase economic growth.  It is with pleasure that USTDA can work with the U.S. private sector in implementing our programs, to bring best practices and U.S. technology to bear in delivering specific, results-oriented development assistance.  Our goal is to make mutually beneficial connections between U.S. businesses and overseas project sponsors that assist countries in meeting important development goals using U.S. goods services and technology.
