During the last
week of September the U.S. Trade & Development Agency (USTDA) is
sponsoring an orientation visit for Turkmenistan
officials responsible for Oil and Gas Exploration and Development in Turkmenistan. Participating in this OV will be
five senior delegates from: Turkmenistan’s
State Agency for Hydrocarbon Resources; Turkmenistan’s
Ministry of Oil and Gas, and other Turkmenistan agencies. The purpose of the OV is to increase
the Turkmen delegate’s awareness and understanding of the U.S. oil and natural gas sector and to
introduce them to U.S.
firms, technologies, and operational models that could assist Turkmenistan
develop its oil and gas resources.
As part of this OV a Business Briefing has
been scheduled at the Greater Houston Partnership in Houston, Texas
for September 27, 2007. This
Business Briefing has been organized to allow the Turkmen delegates to
describe to interested US
companies potential business opportunities as Turkmenistan
considers expanded development of its oil and natural gas resources,
particularly its undeveloped offshore resources, and to allow interested US companies to
develop contacts with the Turkmen delegates. The delegates are interested in
meeting major oil and gas companies, equipment vendors, service companies,
and engineering firms in the oil and gas sector.
